I am using Network Manager on Ubuntu 12.10 to connect to an openvpn server. The connection works without problems. However, when I connect, I would like to change my default DNS server to a server on the vpn network. That way I can use domain names that are only defined on the vpn network. Is there a way I can make this automatic with Network Manager?

I keep having problems with some remote client machines trying to connect to my OpenVPN server using UDP. Ive set up a second instance of OpenVPN on my server to receive TCP. The problem is that I cant figure out how to have both instances assign clients to share the same network subnet so that a client machine will get the same VPN IP address regardless of whether it connects with UDP or TCP. I use ccd to assign particular VPN IP addresses to clients.

Trying to set up VPN, Error 707 but Im telling it to use the network, not the modem
Im attempting to set up a VPN connection to my workplace from home. Im running the 64 bit version of Win 7 Ultimate N edition. I have started the network setup and it asks if I want to use a modem or the LAN. I am being careful to tell it I want to use the LAN. It goes through the setup but I get an error 707 when it attempts to set up the connection. As I said, Ive told it I want to use the LAN, not the modem. I am able to make this same connection using my laptop which is running the 32 bit version of Windows 7 Professional. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance.

ABER: Serverseitig scheint das Problem nicht zu sein, ich war bei uns an der Hochschule im Rechenzentrum, die haben in den logs nachgeschaut und da war zu sehen, dass ich mich ordnungsgemäß eingeloggt hatte, aber dass die Verbindung nach ~2 Sekunden User-seitig (das bin ich) wieder getrennt wurde.
